A Rainbow & Glitter Paris on Ponce Wedding Extravaganza // Kate & Indigo

Kate & Caroline {or Indigo} and their rainbow & glitter Paris on Ponce wedding EXTRAVAGANZA had my heart almost immediately. Both of these amazing people work in the nonprofit world, are unbelieveably talented and design-minded, appreciate art and the weird like you wouldn’t believe, and are more than happy to sit and discuss the last four Shakespeare performances you’ve seen. They are incredibly joyful, a hell of a lot of fun, and a complete delight to work with.

Paris on Ponce is already a completely awesome venue. Right on the Atlanta Beltline with tons of access to work by local artists, and a venue for local craftspeople itself, it comes with both a pleathora of opportunities while letting you put your own spin on it at the same time. It’s a killer spot and Kate & Caroline DID IT RIGHT.

They also have some utterly fantastic advice throughout, so start scrolling and enjoy the happiness!

Most memorable moment from your wedding day?

Our vows. We had been working on them and talking about them a bit, but they were a surprise to each other. I (Kate) had gotten a little fixated on what would actually feel different after we were married, and we put a lot of focus into making promises to each other that we could keep forever. Parts of our wedding were a blur, but we slowed down for this and took the time to really send all of our love and care to the other person.

Funniest moment on your wedding day?
Caroline’s dad is a pretty reserved guy a lot of the time, but no one can stand firm against the amount of glitter and rainbows we had in that room! We were talking with a friend after cutting the cake, and suddenly he appeared, grinning, with a cup of glitter confetti he found by the bar. He threw it all over us and everyone else he could find, so the pictures from the end of the night show everyone speckled with an extra dose of sparkle. Delightful.

What were you most anxious or nervous about regarding your wedding day and how did it turn out?
So, there was a Hurricane — and it really must be mentioned that it was named after Kate’s mom — barreling toward the Southeast over our wedding weekend. We lost the chance to have a few close friends there because of the storm, and that was really weighing on us, especially Kate, as the RSVP changes rolled in. We didn’t want to celebrate while people were losing their homes, and we hated missing out on sharing the experience with our loved ones. In the end, of course we wished they could have been there, but we’re excited to show them pictures and tell them stories.

What advice would you give to other couples planning their wedding?
Don’t take everything so seriously. It’s a party. Also, wedding stuff costs more than you think it will, so plan for that. It’s easy to lose yourself over every small detail, but don’t get caught up in thinking that every choice you make is a referendum on your love. People care about you more than place settings, and this night isn’t your whole marriage. Work on your ceremony during the planning process, too. When your reception is making your head spin, the ceremony will ground you again.

If you could do it all over, would you change anything?
We would have probably taken it a little easier on ourselves, especially around decor. But no. It was perfecty-perfect and we’d like it just as it was, thanks.

Any tips for future couples on how to prepare for their wedding photos?

Prep your families for what to expect. And get yourselves a charming and perceptive photographer who makes you laugh so you won’t freak out. (Thanks, Raven.)
