Modern and Fresh Wedding at Ambient+ Studios in Atlanta, GA // Angie & Brendan

Friends, you may remember these delightful goofballs from our adventures on the Atlanta Beltline together {and if you didn’t already, you check out that engagement session!}. We’ve just hit their one-year anniversary last month, so let’s dive into their bright and modern and fresh wedding at Ambient+ Studios in Atlanta. 🙂

Angie & Brendan have consistently been a complete delight to work with from the beginning. We met for drinks at their initial consultation and honestly I think at least an hour of drinking and just talking went by before we really got into wedding details. It was just too easy to talk about everything else and to get to know each other, which is always a fantastic sign with my couples!

One of the things that I look for in my couples – because I do have things I look for! – is whether or not we’ll get along as people. And I encourage my couples to do the same thing. We’re going to spend a lot of time together, let’s make sure that time is going to be amazing and full of dumb jokes. {Inevitable, really, with me.}

Their engagement session was also a blast, so I had no doubt that their wedding would be the same. It was sunny and full of greenry, jokes {their “Just the Tip” jar is one of my favorite things in the whole damned world}, and a laidback attitude that is one of the most important things to have on wedding day.

Check out their day, read their words, take their advice. <3

Most memorable moment from your wedding day?

The moment the curtains pulled back and I saw Brendan for the first time. I was proud I held it together so my makeup didn’t run off my face.

Funniest moment on your wedding day?

Brendan’s nephew performed a reading and added his own theatrical flair to it. He really brought down the house with “OH, WHAT A LOVE IT WAS!!” I’m sure Pasternak didn’t write it that way, but I’m sure he appreciated his rendition.

What were you most anxious or nervous about regarding your wedding day and how did it turn out?

Well, getting the diagnosis of the flu 3 days before the wedding wasn’t fun. Especially when you have a list of things that need to be done for the ceremony and for yourself (are you supposed to apply self tanner in between the fever breaks?). I was able to rest for a solid 48 hours with the help of our fabulous families and my wonderful fiancé. Rest is what I needed and I was able to put on my dancing shoes for the main event!

What advice would you give to other couples planning their wedding?

Take your Vitamin C starting a month before the wedding! Being sick and then stressing about if you’ll be OK in time is no way to enjoy the week prior to your wedding! Also, get used to having to abruptly cut off conversations during your reception. There are so many people there to see you and your groom/bride that it is easy to get stuck in a conversation with someone you may talk to frequently. Learn to say, ” I’ll see you on the dance floor (or at the bar). We have to say hi to Grandma before she leaves.”

If you could do it all over, would you change anything?

Not at all! I was so happy that through our vendors, we really were able to capture our vision in one amazing night!
