And for my next trick… I will chase one year old Baby while simultaneously meeting the photographic demands of 10 year old Diva. These 2 little girls are as much a part of my life as my own three and their Mom has been a dear friend of mine for a little over half of my life now. Diva was my first real experience with small children and watching her grow is so bitter sweet for me. She is so poised and sophisticated while Baby is the total opposite and can make any situation a ball of laughs. Diva showed up ready to toss her hair and strike a pose. Unfortunately, she quickly realized that there would be more chasing Baby than anything else. Baby quickly realized that it made everyone laugh if she turned away when the camera got close to my face and even funnier to run while I was fiddling with Diva’s hair. While I did get a few shots of them together that I absolutely love, I finally gave up and focused on one at a time so as to not drive us all to the brink of insanity!
Diva was a huge help and was sooooo patient with Baby and I. I did eventually let her play for the camera! She is so easy to photograph mainly because she’s just to pretty for her own good!
Baby certainly wasn’t intersted in posing so I did what any good photographer would. I set her up on a picnic table so that she couldn’t escape! Poor Mom was a nervous wreck, insisting she was going to jump off and break her face (as all mom’s would be) so I had to be quick. I think my frantic moving did, at least, serve the purpose of keeping her attention on me! Whatever works right?
As with all child photography, the best laid plans are ALWAYS derailed about 37 seconds after the first click! So, as I have said in a previous post, I am expecially fond of the candids!! Especially when Baby makes her “smoochie” face and tries to climb into the lens!
But these last two are by far my favorites. While very simple shots they encompass, in these single moments, the individual personalities of 2 awesome little girls!
As always, thanks for checking out my shots and reading my ramblings! Please feel free to leave me a comment! It’s the highlight of my day!!!
