I was tasked by the Raven, to create a theme photo shoot. Thinking on it, I know simpler ideas could have formed and would have been easier to execute, but would the challenge have been.
I started with the simplest idea, with help from Raven, to create shots that are worthy of a CD insert. I used the Goat Farm grounds to add an Earthen and decayed feeling to the scenes. Knowing the band’s photo history, I set upon to showcase scenes that are the most memorable.
I chose to emulate key aspects of band called MUTEMATH’s live show. This was something I was very familiar with, and I knew what I needed to do. The band is known for their on stage antics, which was something I wished to capture. The most difficult thing to do was to stage something that is usually an “in-the-moment” act. As I gathered up props and supplies, other ideas from other videos and photo shoots came into mind. Why decide on one niche of the band when you have the whole of it to choose from. I would get the shots I wanted, the ones I want I cannot get, and many others come to mind only after you finished and are halfway through editing. I know now, to plan extensively ahead of time*which is something to be done anyway*.
enjoy.
