One of the things I love about my job is that I get to see clients through the different stages of their lives, see the changes and the growth. During my short stint in fast-food photography, I had a family come in for me when their daughter was newborn, 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, and 1-year-old. Every time, they’d ask for me. I loved seeing their daughter grow, and they always were so excited to be photographed by me.
I’ve known Katie & Keith for a long time. Back before they were Katie & Keith, and way before there was an Emma. I loved being able to see how their family has come together, and was completely honored to shoot their family when they came to town from Illinois.
Families are a lot of fun to shoot, because they’re actually a bunch of mini-sessions rolled up into one. Not only do we shoot the whole family, but I always break it down into “mom & dad,” “just baby,” “just siblings,” and even individuals sometimes. This is also an awesome way to give people - especially the younger or older ones - a good break in between pictures.
Thanks again, Keith, Katie, & Emma!
