Senior Portrait Inspiration - The Wild Child

I’m all about you adding your personality into your photoshoot. I think it’s awesome, even - dare I say - imperative.

A big part of the reason we take pictures, as a culture, is to capture moments. To catch how things were at that time. And this holds true with how YOU are, or were, at a specific time, as well. The things you’re into, interested in, influenced by, etc.

Senior sessions are especially fun to add bits of your personality into because it’s such a big transitional period of your life, and it’s great to be able to really capture YOU at this point in your life.

This week’s inspiration is for senior sessions, and is all about Janis Joplin as a “Wild Child” personality. To plan for a shoot inspired by Janis herself, her music, or simply the time period, the feeling will be fun, funky, and very loose and laidback.

Hair & make-up are very natural, with flushed cheeks, and loose, wavy hair. Props are a big part of the shoot, such as funky jewelry {check out her favorite necklace in a number of the shots}, chunky rings, and round glasses. Clothing could be a variety, ranging from a more authentic vintage to a modern bohemian.
