I recently had the pleasure of working in conjunction with Loclly, Lululemon, Tough Love Yoga, and Mercedes-Benz of Buckhead to cover their yoga class at the Swan House in Buckhead.
Firstly, if you’re unfamiliar with any of these companies, FAMILIARIZE YOURSELF. They’re all awesome. {I’ve been lusting after Lululemon since I found them a year ago!} Not only that, but the Swan House? Is an AMAZING venue. Especially to have a yoga class at.
I really like yoga, not that you could tell by how often I do it. And especially since becoming more of a hippie the more I grow up {more on that, later}, it just kind of naturally calls to me. I think it’s beautiful, and extremely empowering, especially if you’re the type of person who’s never been very physically strong.
It’s about being in control of your mind and your body, which nearly seems an impossibility, these days.
Personally? I’m awful at quieting my mind. There’s always something going on in there {despite my vacant looks, haha}. But if you want to be good at yoga, if you want to have complete control over your mind and your body, then you have to shut it all out. Have to tell it to go away, that it can wait. That you decide when to think about specific things.
You just focus on the stretch. On your muscles. On your breath. On how powerful and amazing you are.
Just the positives. And that’s awesome.
