Megan & John have been excited about their granddaughter Adrienne’s visit for some time, now. The plan was for her to stay with them for a whole month, so what better way to celebrate than with an at home family portrait session?
At Home Family Portraits
While planning their at home family portraits, I got a peek into their everyday life while Adrienne is visiting. It often involves stories, cuddles on the couch, singing and dancing, and a ton of playtime. So we incorporated as much as possible! We started out with a story on the couch for all three of them, where Adrienne listened, enraptured by her grandparents’ voices, then moved into exploring with her bunny and some of her favorite balls to bounce and play with.
Eventually we explored outside on the front porch, to the adorable and cozy porch swing where we captured some grandparent cuddles, then to the backyard where we ran out some energy for a few minutes. We finished off with some bubbles on the backporch, a huge hit, before finally ending up back inside for some songs and plenty of silly faces.
This is the ideal family session type and exactly what I expect from sessions involving children: play and running around a LOT. They require speed, and lots of tricks, and plenty of thinking on your feet. But that’s my job, and I don’t ever want you to think you’re responsible for any of that! Sit back, let me work some magic, and maybe I’ll sneeze a stuffed animal off my head in the hopes everyone laughs. {They usually do. 🙂 }
