Back in 2013, I shot a backyard wedding for one of my childhood friends: Mike, and the love of his life, Amy. Mike and I have known each other since we were little bitty. It was such a complete delight when we reconnected. Not to mention, being a part of his and Amy’s wedding was an honor. That honor increased ten-fold when they hired me to photograph their Atlanta family portraits, having added Van and Dex into the mix.
Atlanta Family Portraits with Two Children
Van kept us on our TOES the whole time during their Atlanta family portrait session. We played in the sand a lot, and both he and Dex have so many things that remind me of their dad from when he was a kid. Seeing how everyone interacts together is one of my favorite things. Mike & Amy are fantastic and warm parents, hilarious every time I’ve had the pleasure of hanging out with them. Not to mention, laidback and just generally swell to be around.
This entire family was a joy to photograph. Since everyone was having a great time, their smiles and laughs were all genuine - which made my job so easy. I love letting kids just be kids during our photo sessions. It’s a lot more enjoyable for all of us and they relax for me a lot quicker! I want to capture the true nature of your family and that’s honestly the best way to be. Thank you for a wonderful family session, you four! Counting down until our next one!
