Shooting weddings with fellow photographers I admire and love as people is hugely important to me. I love having them shoot with me on my weddings and I love working with them on theirs. It also allows me creative space to play around with weird ideas or new techniques, which is hugely important to my growth as a creative and an artist.

I second shot this wedding for Gabbie Burseth, an all-around fantastic human being and amazing photographer, at the Carlyle House. This venue is adorable and has a ton of fantastic nooks and secret spaces to hide away with the couple for portraits or to sneak around in for authentic candid shots, especially during the reception. There are fantastically huge trees on the property, as well, and plenty of greenery to shoot through in the spring and summer.

But one of my favorite things about this venue is the ceremony space. Nestled between the lush front lawn and the antique farmhouse is a stark white ceremony space with smooth columns and a backdrop of trees as far as the eye can see. On this day in particular, the sky was the kind of blue I feel like Georgia is known for, and the sunlight shone in perfectly, balancing between soft overcast lighting and harder sunlight with lots of contrast.
