When Cat approached me about doing a musician photography session of both headshots and fun lifestyle shots for her music promotions, her CDs, and website, I knew we had the same thing in mind even before asking. She’s an incredibly free spirit, in every sense of the word. Loving, caring, and completely wild, but with an incredibly calming presence. She’s like an elemental. So, of course, that needs to come through in her images, in the way she presents herself as an artist.
Cat plays the harp, flute, recorder, and penny whistle among so many other instruments, and has an amazing voice, as well. I’m only in slight crazy awe of this girl.
Melanie Mae was in charge of make-up for the day, and she did a great job playing up Cat’s naturalness while keeping her true and honest and fresh-faced.
It’s always been terribly important to me that my images are real and honest. I want to show who you are without having to say it. I want to show you at your most awesome. I want to prove to you how great you are in pictures, even if you tell me you’re “not photogenic” {which I don’t believe in, anyway}.
