I’ve been having trouble finding inspiration as of late. It’s hard to find new and exciting things to discover. Quite fortunately, birthdays, provide excellent source material.
My friend Weston, had his birthday party last weekend at Double Zero Neopolitano, which had excellent food, as well as a wonderful atmosphere. As we sat down I just took not of many different things in the building that caught my eye; lamps that reminded me of concerts one seen, empty wine glasses that shone like a Cascade commercial, and faces only friends would make. Every now and then, you get surprised by how people act when there is a camera out. Some people react by saying ‘No’ to candids, others just see it as common-place. I won’t I didn’t have a good time spending time with my friends, because that would be less than truthful. I will had a good time catching people rolling eyes, making faces, and just being merry. So how can one person do all this in a 60 minute time-frame? Carefully, is how.
Secondly, my sister Katy, who introduced me to Raven oh-so many years ago, started a cupcake business. She tasked me, with taking amazing photos of the delectable pastries. I will say this, I honestly didn’t know how
bakeries made the two-toned icing effect. Seeing my sister work diligently, made me wonder, how I would do the same to make my dream to come true.
Lastly, I made my way downtown to help a friend out at a local artist’s gallery. It was in a part of town, that I had honestly never been to, I liked how different from the city it was. It felt real, and the art was quite amazing. I took note of all the art, and thought how unique each persons style is. So I walked around, taking in everything. As I walked I took photos and I created my own borrowed art. The details are quite different in person, but why I am here, is to hope to make something new, from something borrowed.
To many more photos to come.
Chris
