Melissa & Travis’s Kiawah Island Wedding

I’ve been to South Carolina a handful of times. Our destination typically Myrtle Beach, though sometimes as the state only acted as a throughway to North Carolina and beyond. I’ve also been to Savannah, which is always a treat.

I had never, however, been to Kiawah Island, SC. It’s fabulous.

Kiawah Island is basically the South Carolina side of Savannah. Full of Spanish moss, sprawling oaks, and tons of the charm of the “old south”. One of the things I love about my job is that it takes me to new places, figuratively and quite literally. And we were so glad to join Melissa & Travis at their gorgeous wedding.

I actually knew Melissa in high school. We took a lot of the same science classes, though, when I say “took” I simply mean “attended and drew all over our notebooks in the back of class.” I hadn’t met Travis, however, until the rehearsal dinner, and it was easy to see why they’re so crazy about each other.

Their wedding was laidback & full of personal touches, including Melissa’s brother acting as DJ.

Their first dance was unique: it was the song that Travis listened to while he planned their first date, which involved whisking Melissa off to Kiawah Island via plane.

They had one of the most beautiful First Looks I’ve ever seen.
