I’ve always had respect for people who perform stunts {especially after Nick taught me staged combat and some falls}. Probably because, coming from a person with close to no physical background - until more recently - I can’t even imagine doing those things, myself. But I’ve definitely always thought it was cool. Especially when the person is female, since that seems - like good female comedians - so rare.
Maya’s a stunt-woman for films and TV shows who was looking for some awesome headshots, and who was also more than willing to shoot some action shots with me, as well.
Action shots are harder than you’d think, really. It’s obviously more difficult than just having a person sit or stand somewhere. You have to think about the grade of the ground, the background higher than you’d normally shoot, if hair and clothes will get in their face, etc. And from watching America’s Next Top Model, I already knew that looking athletic while keeping a good look on your face was going to be difficult.
But Maya did an AWESOME job, achieving beauty and grace in her powerful moves.
Thanks again, Maya. You’re awesome.![]()

Yes, this is very very cool. You seem to be always growing as a person, or at least, catching some good air!
