For those of you with less time on your hands, steampunk is a genre set in the Victorian time period with elements of sci-fi and fantasy thrown in. Movies like “Wild, Wild West,” “League of Extraordinary Gentlemen,” and “Hugo” all have aspects of this genre. And personally? I think it’s AWESOME.
Becca & JR met at the Canton theatre. They were engaged at the theatre. And now, they were married there. {Funny story, I went to college right up the street from there!}
One of the reasons the steampunk theme is so much fun is the amount of detail that goes into it. And all of the detail for this wedding was done by Becca, JR, and their friends & families. And all of it, was FANTASTIC.
There were steampunk jewelry bits by the door as guests walked in, in case they didn’t feel steampunk-y enough. All of the food for the day was DIY, including the steampunked cake pops serving as wedding cake. Becca alone had 5-7 pieces of awesome steampunk flair, including a cameo locket garter with little stylized pictures inside.
And the ceremony on the stage was FANTASTIC. Think about it. Awesome lighting, it comes with seats for guests, and it has aisles! It was pretty much perfect.
