Alexandra and I met at Jade & Matt’s wedding last spring and I instantly thought she was just the coolest. She’s hilarious, so talented, and has a killer smile that’s completely contagious. When she contacted me for a boudoir session {or, as I like to refer to it, a moxie session}, I was in! As we started the planning process, she mentioned skulls and crystals. The vision started forming in my head for this witchy outdoor boudoir session.
I wanted to focus on a couple of things. First, her connection with the natural world, her connection with her body, and her connection with things beyond this world. I wanted her to come across as ethereal but powerful. Something mythical and strong, like a siren or mermaid, the kind who demand more than to be a part of your world. Alexandra absolutely killed this session, and I adore that it speaks to her personality so much.
The location I chose is currently private property, but the fantastic owners are working to turn it into a future wedding venue! You can follow their progress on Instagram at WeddingsintheWoodlands. I needed a place that was secluded but also had character: lots of weird plants, wild, full of ferns and trees and light spilling in from all angles.
