Seems like everyone is inspired by summer:
“Summertime… and the livin’ is easy.”
“It’s a smile, it’s a kiss, it’s a sip of wine - it’s summertime.”
“Summer days, driftin’ away… to oh, oh those summer nights.”
And I am no exception.
I mean, most people like summer, but I’m OBSESSED with summer. (I’m probably a little bit seasonally affected, because I have almost as strong a hate for winter.) Personally, I’ll take the Southern heat and humidity, as long as I get my daily dose of vitamin D from the sunshine.
Summer’s light and weather are generally beautiful, but the season especially great from a photographer’s standpoint. The “golden hour”, as we like to call it, seems to glow just a little bit brighter. Everything blooms. (Even dandelions.)
So, I put this shoot together to celebrate the feeling of summer. My lovely friend, Hana, and I got together one evening to enjoy the beautiful weather and to shoot some portraits which captured the hopefulness, excitement, beauty, and joy of the season… and to take advantage of the gorgeous field of daisies and dandelions growing in a field near my house.
Well when your friends are in town and they’ve got time for you
When you were never hanging around and they don’t ignore you
When you say what you will and they still adore you
Is that not appealing, it’s that summer feeling. -Jonathan Richman
