I’ve been dreaming of a vintage carnival wedding styled shoot for a long, long time.  And finally, because I have the pleasure of working with and knowing some truly AMAZING people, my dream became a reality.

If there’s one thing you need to know about me, it’s that I have an extreme love of and fascination with turn-of-the-century circuses and carnivals.  I’m really not sure where it originated, but it was encouraged and nurtured by shows like Carnivale, movies like Moulin Rouge, and any number of books {especially by Southern authors} that heavily feature a carnival.

I actually wrote my thesis on them.  “From Carnival to Lent: Carnivals in Literature, Film, and Television Series.”  The carnival, much like the presence of water, symbolizes great change.  It’s all about truths and untruths disguised as frivolity.  The king’s fool spouting wisdom.  Judgement from a safe distance.

So when opportunity came for me to build a wedding styled shoot with the theme of vintage circuses and carnivals, I didn’t hesitate.

I worked with some AMAZING people on this shoot, and every single one of them was vital to its undertaking.  Thank you all so much! {Credits at the bottom of the post.}

A special thank you goes out to Christina from PhotoSaysHello.com, for helping me photograph this amazing session.
